Serialized Fiction
Most people do not read the first chapter of a book, set it down, and return a week later to read the next chapter. That would be frustrating and unenjoyable. We read for various reasons: to learn, be entertained, to escape… I sometimes read a book in a day or two. If I have to set a book down and return later, it's usually only a gap of a few days.
Reading a book is an investment of time. You invest in the characters, location, or storyline. Your time investment may be for another reason, but most importantly, your time is valuable. Writers understand that. Every writer aims to write to propel the reader eagerly to the next paragraph or chapter.
Can you imagine a main character walking out of a hospital room where his brother has just died and texting the words (to who knows who?), “Do it.” Don’t worry; you can read Chapter 2 next week. That is nonsense. I don’t want to wait until next week, and I am sure you won’t either.
For that reason, I will be releasing CASCADE chapters daily. If you don’t have time to read the next day or the next few days, don’t worry; the chapters will await you.
