Beach Day

Your shadow drifts long across the water.
Waves - crashing, turning, breaking, over endless sand topography. Noise.
So loud it washes away the cobwebs in your mind. So loud it only enhances the morning sunlight. So loud - they cause you to stop, breathe - listen.
As the tumultuous water cleans sand, rocks, mind.
Can you hear?
Your eyes scan the distant whitecaps. Wondering.
Is it as loud out there in the deep? Or, is it the illusion of sound, your eyes ingest?
Your feet slowly sink into earth puddles. So comforting as the grains of sand swirl in calm pools. You wish that you could stand there forever.
As the tide recedes, as the sun dances across the sky in a perfect arch, kissing the horizon in a light show of orange and yellow - a path connecting you to the sun.
Love this. I can feel the sand between my toes as I read
